I’m a PhD candidate in economics at Boston University. I’m interested in studying the Medicaid expansion, but I’m having some trouble identifying what the thresholds are for Medicaid eligibility in each state. I understand that the ACA requires expansion states to implement a minimum threshold of 138% of FPL, but I was hoping you would be able to point me to something summarizing the implemented state-by-state thresholds after expansion, or which state agencies would have that information.

Answer

The Kaiser Family Foundation recently posted a tabular summary of the Medicaid Income Eligibility Limits for Adults. They have many other Medicaid & CHIP studies which you might find helpful in your research. We hope that helps!
