How Do HealthCare Cost Go Down, When Demand Outpaces Supply?
Since healthcare is now more accessible to more people, the demand for healthcare is sky rocketing. But, the supply of doctors is the same, so the price is going up. How is this making healthcare more affordable?
Answer
That is a great question. The answer is that there is a lot of funding and incentives for new healthcare workers. So while demand may outpace supply in the short-term, "supply" (ie healthcare jobs) are expected to meet demand. In the meantime healthcare costs are keep down by new cost curbing provisions and insurer regulations, while new taxes on the industry bring in additional revenue used to keep consumer costs low via subsidies.
