Under 65 and Retiring, Where Should I Get Coverage?
I am planning to retire at 64 in the beginning of July 2015 I need insurance till I can get Medicare I am offered cobra but is high priced when can I apply?
Answer
Your initial enrollment period for Medicare starts three months before your 65th birthday. You have a few choices until then, get Marketplace Health Insurance (and see if you qualify for cost assistance based on your projected income for the year) or explore other in-term retiree insurance options. Once your initial enrollment period starts you should move to Medicare A&B and explore supplemental options.
