Trump Says New Order Will Cover Pre-existing Conditions; But ObamaCare Already Does

Trump said that he’ll be pursuing an executive order to mandate insurers covers pre-existing conditions. With that in mind, ObamaCare already mandates this.

It is unclear as to what Trump meant. Perhaps he was going to order this incase the Supreme Court lawsuit in the works strikes down the ACA, or perhaps he was implying this order would be extended to all coverage types including short term.

With that in mind, Trump said that something like this had never been done before, which is odd phrasing given the push of the President to support the lawsuit to declare the ACA illegal and assorted repeal efforts.
