ObamaCare Transgender Protections Overturned by Judge Who Ruled ACA Illegal

A federal judge has overturned transgender protections under the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) by the Judge who ruled ACA illegal.

Previously, under the Affordable Care Act, insurers and providers who received federal money were prohibited from denying treatment or coverage to anyone based on sex, gender identity, or termination of a pregnancy.

However, after this ruling by Judge Reed O’Connor, things are now a little more complicated.

The Judge issued an injunction against enforcing the rule, and that means the federal government can’t sue if insurers or providers don’t follow the rule. Thus, the rule has essentially been made ineffective and the protections are essentially no longer in place.
