After I select a plan for the year and decide I can not afford it, can I change it and how?

Answer

You can change your plan during open enrollment at any time. Get covered by Dec 15 each year for coverage that starts Jan 1st. Make sure to enroll by the Feb 15 deadline to avoid missing open enrollment. If your coverage becomes too expensive you may be eligible for greater cost assistance by updating your information on the website. If you must, you can always let your coverage expire, that will qualify you for a special enrollment period outside of open enrollment and allow you to pick another plan. However, you'll lose all money you paid toward your deductible.
