How do I get a 1095-A for health insurance tax credits?

In most cases your 1095-A will be mailed to you and the IRS, and you won't have to request or submit the form. However, since you need your 1095-A for 8962 tax credit forms, it's good to know you can download your form using HealthCare.gov (or your state website).

  1. Log into HealthCare.gov.
  2. Click on your existing applications for the year in question.
  3. Select Tax Forms from the menu on the left.
  4. Download the 1095-A PDF (again, make sure it is for the year you are filing for).

The process is similar for each state, but each state will have a slightly different interface for their website. Again though, if you have issues, just call.
