I tried to enroll in Obamacare but was rejected because I don’t have legal status?  Are there any other plans that I can apply for? Do I have other options?

Answer

Non-citizens of the United States are not eligible for healthcare coverage under the ACA unless they are lawfully-present immigrants (have legal status).  Whether or not you can get coverage and cost assistance through Obamacare depends on your immigration status.  Undocumented immigrants have much more limited options, but are still able to buy private health insurance directly from an insurance carrier or through a broker.
