Very Sad!! – ObamaCare Story

I am a single woman who just lost her job. I am appalled that you ask for my income, however you do not ask what my cost of Living is. I received your plans and I cannot afford them. I cannot even afford my monthly mortgage on the only income I am receiving right now which is a little alimony!! I’m 56 and I am scared now I will become broke, homeless and lost.. This is not right.

When someone has an income below the 100% poverty level, and live in a state that didn’t expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, they can find themselves without any coverage options.

The reason you were asked for income is because assistance is based on income. It sounds like you perhaps didn’t qualify for assistance (because you made too little) and are thus stuck in the Medicaid gap. See the link for an explanation.
