Does ObamaCare Help People Visiting the US?
I have been as a visiting scholar at University of Wisconsin-Madison for 9 months and I will be here 2 more months until the end of April 2015.
During this time I has paid health insurance cost average 700 dollars for per months for me and my family.
But right now, due to the cutting one of my scholarship I can not pay this cost for the left 2 months.
My question is; does the Obamacare program coverage us or not during this time?
Answer
Generally those visiting the country can't get cost assistance, but may be eligible for a Marketplace plan. Every situation is different and eligibility depends upon a few factors.
Most people in the following groups are eligible for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace:
- U.S. citizens
- U.S. nationals
- Lawfully present immigrants
