Pelosi Wants Income Levels For ACA Assistance Raised

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on MSNBC that she wanted to raise the income levels at which people could get subsidies.

In other words, while the current cutoff is at 400% FPL, she signaled that she wanted to raise that threshold.

She didn’t offer details, but the move would be in-line with what Democrats generally want (to expand assistance) and what the Republican party put forth in its last repeal and replace bill.

I think the income level needs to dip down below 100% of federal poverty level to allow subsidies for people who do not qualify for Medicaid (because not disabled) who are required to pay full price if they want a healthcare plan. I’m in this position and I do not know what I am going to do. I could easily pay for healthcare if I got a subsidy. There’s no way I can pay full price. I suffer from mental health issues at times and won’t be able to have coverage to help pay for my care and medicines while individuals making more than me get coverage for less than me.
