SS backpay and IRS – Story




2017, I became disabled. Husband has been disabled since 1994. I’ve worked since I was 15. After my husband became disabled, I worked 2 jobs, 1 full time, the other part time. Lost my job in 2009, due to health issues, but kept on looking for work that I could do. So, I signed up for ACH, in 2017, I received coverage for March and April, and then cancelled it. March 2017 I was awarded my disability. I received my back pay in Dec 2017. Now, after having my taxes done, I will be paying, for the first time in my life, the IRS, $1827.00…… REALLY, this is crazy!! I’m very blessed, but living on SS, is, well you know is just month to month!! I believe that the ACA, helps people, but good grief, you get some extra money and we lose again!! And I know, life isn’t fair……
